Role Overview
We are looking for a Shopify Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong hands-on experience in and a passion for building world-class e-commerce experiences. You will drive the technical direction of Shopify projects mentor the development team and deliver custom storefronts headless commerce solutions and enterprise integrations.
This is a key role where youll work directly with architects designers and business stakeholders to create impactful customer journeys for global brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Shopify SME for Softobizs e-commerce initiatives owning technical solutions end-to-end.
- Build and customize Shopify themes Liquid templates and apps to deliver engaging storefronts.
- Develop backends and APIs for seamless integration with ERP CRM OMS and third-party systems.
- Implement headless commerce using Shopify Storefront API GraphQL Hydrogen/Remix or .
- Ensure code quality via Clean Architecture reusable components and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with UX design and product teams to deliver responsive and scalable solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues ensuring high availability and security compliance.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to Softobizs e-commerce capability building.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5 years of proven Shopify development experience (themes apps Liquid Polaris).
- Strong hands-on expertise in REST/GraphQL APIs.
- Proficiency with JavaScript HTML5 CSS3 and modern frontend practices.
- Solid understanding of Shopify APIs (Admin Storefront Checkout Payments).
- Experience with headless Shopify builds and storefront performance optimization.
- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and API integration workflows.
- Strong problem-solving debugging and communication skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with Shopify Plus multi-storefront setups and enterprise integrations.
- Exposure to Azure/AWS hosting CI/CD pipelines Docker and cloud-native practices.
- Understanding of SEO accessibility and performance best practices.
- Prior experience in an agency/consulting environment delivering global e-commerce projects.
