The role

As a Senior Risk Officer youll play a key role in helping teams across the department manage risk more effectively. Youll support the implementation of the DPHI Risk Management Framework run risk workshops develop risk training and provide practical advice to improve control environments and risk culture. Youll also help drive continuous improvement and build capability through training and awareness programs.

This role is all about making risk management meaningful and accessible working closely with stakeholders challenging assumptions and helping teams embed good risk practices. Its a great opportunity to grow your career while contributing to smarter more risk aware culture across the department.

What you will bring to the role

  • Strong understanding of risk frameworks and control environments with the ability to translate theory into practical business-friendly advice.
  • Experience facilitating risk workshops and reviews helping teams identify and mitigate risks in a collaborative and solutions-focused way and translating risk workshops inputs into risk registers.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities delivering high-quality insights and risk reports in a dynamic and diverse operating environment.
  • Commitment to building capability through risk training coaching and continuous improvement initiatives that lift risk maturity across the organisation.
  • Drive to grow your career through impactful work supporting strategic outcomes and helping shape a culture of resilience and informed decision-making.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Demonstrated experience with risk management frameworks and practices.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
