AECOM is seeking a Bridge Design Project Engineer III for our Dallas Texas office.
The AECOM Bridge Group is seeking qualified individuals to be a part of our Dallas and Texas team. The Dallas and Texas bridge teams are growing quickly and in order to meet the demand of our clients we are seeking talented individuals to join our group.
This role will provide the opportunity to directly support transformational bridge design projects such as the North Houston Highway Improvement Project (NHHIP) Segment 3C-4 which consists of extensive bridge design work for the project in excess of $750MM construction cost.
In addition AECOM was the primary design contributor on the I-35 NEX Corridor project in San Antonio and Austin. This project has been one of the largest highway infrastructure projects in the country and entails design and construction of existing bridge improvements to accommodate the ever-increasing traffic loads driving through these keys growing metropolitan areas. - Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
- Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
- Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
- Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
- Identifies discrepancies in results.
- Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
- Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design
- elements for engineering works.
- Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- PE license in state of TX or ability to obtain via reciprocity within one (1) tear.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in a professional engineering related work environment with heavy emphasis on design of TxDOT highway bridges
- Knowledge of industry standard computer software such as OpenBridge Modeler OpenBridge Designer Microstation LEAP Bridge Concrete MDX PGSuper Excel
- Knowledge of 3D finite element software such as CSiBridge MIDAS SAP2000 etc
- Ability to perform bridge design calculations independently perform quality control demonstrate ability to communicate clearly with other engineering disciplines and CADD staff develop technical reports and document client communication
