Job Summary
The Catering Sales Representative is to provide support to the Catering Sales Department. Position requires excellent oral and written communication skills excellent interpersonal and people management skills a high level of computer literacy strong attention to detail and thorough organizational skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and manage catered functions to include weddings class reunions galas and parties that utilize the event and meeting space at the Isle and the Quad-Cities Waterfront Convention Center.
- Ensure the safety and security of employees and customers. Understands pricing strategy and asks qualifying questions to prospective business.
- Review convention activities and promotions with Catering Sales Manager. Creates new accounts new bookings and enters Banquet Event Order details into the master account.
- Conducts planning meetings contract negotiations and contract preparations. Collects deposits required for bookings and records accurately. Delivers funds immediately to the Finance Department.
- Prepares weekly BEO packet with complete details including final guarantee event diagram and saves for Banquet operational access.
- Assists in facilitation of weekly BEO meetings. Wedding Events- coordinating event from start to finish including site visits contracting planning meetings pricing negotiations and attendance at event.
- Schedule and conduct group wedding tastings including coordination of wedding vendors. Conducts site tours and walk-throughs with clients.
- Must be versed in property specs policies operational procedures and be capable of explaining amenities to guests.
- Provides follow through with proper thank you and inquire for future business
QUALIFICATIONS:
Two to five years experience in catering or special events with an optional 2-year degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. Previous experience with wedding planning and catering software.
