  • Lead a compassionate non-clinical team supporting sensitive claims with empathy and care
  • Promote a safe respectful and confidential environment for both team members and individuals seeking advice
  • Inspire a high-performing empowered team culture where everyone takes ownership of their mahi and behaviours
  • Provide clear direction and connect team contributions to wider success of Whakarongorau Aotearoa
  • Champion our values and lead by example in safety wellbeing and service excellence 
  • Coach and develop your team to meet performance goals address issues early and grow capability 
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation and with external partners to ensure seamless service delivery 
  • Ensure compliance champion best practice and keep leadership informed through regular performance reporting

Qualifications :

Mōu ake About you

You will have a solution-focused mindset with excellent judgment and critical thinking. Your cultural competency will honour Māori world views customs and practices and a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You are proficient in maintaining empathy compassion and humility respectfully holding safe space for all kiritaki. You have experience using multiple technical systems confidence in speaking with health professionals and can adhere to guidelines and procedures. And of course have a great sense of humour and positive energy.

Ōu wheako ōu mātauranga hoki  Qualifications and experience

  • 1 years of leadership experience and/or relevant management qualifications
  • Experience working in a telehealth environment is desirable

Ōu āheitanga ōu pūkenga hoki - Skills and competence

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrate a high level of empathy and sensitivity
  • Confidently able to hold appropriate coaching behaviour and performance conversations with team members
  • Able to navigate support follow and lead change management initiatives
  • Confident with technology
  • Proven ability to lead process and service delivery improvement
  • Confident with driving service performance through managing against daily weekly and monthly key performance indicators
  • Able to support on-going service improvements as well as other business needs
  • A commitment and ability to recognise opportunities and support initiatives to increase equity for Māori tangata whai ora
  • A commitment to the diverse cultures of our service users and the needs of priority populations in Aotearoa
  • A strong awareness understanding and application of Te Tiriti O Waitangi
  • Whakarongorau Aotearoa acknowledges Mana Māori and mātauranga Māori as a professional skill set
