Assistant Finance Manager

With big plans and even bigger ambitions our client is gearing up for an exciting road ahead and we need a sharp hands-on Assistant Finance Manager to join our journey.
Your role on the team:
Reporting to our Financial Controller youll play a key part in steering the small but growing Finance department. Youll roll up your sleeves and get involved in everything from management reporting and payment runs to budgets forecasts and VAT prep. Youll also help guide our brilliant Finance Assistants and collaborate closely with senior leaders across the business.
No two days will be the same one minute youll be deep in Xero the next youll be brainstorming how to make our processes smoother smarter and faster.
Wed love you to have:
- A practical commercial mindset (you know how to balance risk and reward).
- Confidence to challenge the way its always been done and back it up with great reasoning.
- Strong communication skills and a naturally collaborative approach.
- Experience with Xero and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- The ability to stay cool under pressure and still meet those deadlines!
- A positive can-do attitude that brings energy to the whole team.
What youll be doing:
- Running smooth payment processes and accurate reconciliations.
- Pulling together insightful management reports.
- Assisting with budgets forecasts and VAT returns.
- Supporting and mentoring the Finance Assistant.
- Working side-by-side with our Finance Controller to keep the business moving forward.
