The People Partner at Broad Institute plays a pivotal role in the overall Human Resources organization fostering a positive and productive work environment serving as a comprehensive resource for both management and individual contributors. Their expertise is instrumental in enriching the Broad experience for everyone from new hires to seasoned researchers.

People Partners function as strategic and consultative allies to leaders. They leverage their deep understanding of organizational dynamics and human resources best practices to help these leaders navigate complex challenges and seize opportunities. This partnership is crucial in enabling the achievement of ambitious scientific goals by ensuring that teams are well-supported effectively structured and operating at their highest potential.

People Partners also serve as trusted advisors and coaches for all employees. They provide confidential support and guidance on a wide array of topics empowering individuals to thrive professionally and personally within the Broad community.

In essence the People Partner acts as a vital bridge connecting individual employee needs with organizational objectives and contributing significantly to a vibrant supportive and scientifically impactful environment at Broad. Their multifaceted role is integral to cultivating a workplace where both groundbreaking research and individual growth can flourish.

This position requires a hybrid work schedule blending an onsite presence of 2 days a week in the office helping to foster our collaborative work environment while also allowing flexibility for the rest of the week to be worked remotely.

Key responsibilities:

  • Guidance and Advice: They provide guidance and advice to both individuals and teams on people management determine root causes of issues and recommend plans to optimize talent structure and culture. They also coach managers and leaders to develop their skills and competencies.

  • Internal Consulting: They act as internal consultants establishing trust and credibility with individuals groups and leaders and serve as a sounding board for organizational and people issues. They maintain an understanding of each groups direction and identify opportunities to enhance capabilities through organizational effectiveness and workforce planning.

  • Employee Relations: They provide expertise in facilitating employee relations challenges in a positive and proactive manner offering recommendations and feedback to ensure appropriate resolution.

  • Data Utilization: They utilize data and analytics to inform key people decisions and enhance organizational capabilities.

  • Driving HR Initiatives: They respond and resolve HR inquiries in partnership with other functional HR areas to provide a positive customer delivery focused experience. They also assist with other HR cyclical processes including open enrollment required training performance management and compensation cycles.

  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure HR practices comply with federal state and local laws.

Minimum qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelors Degree

  • At least five years of progressive HR experience in an HRBP/HR partner role with knowledge across multiple HR disciplines

Preferred qualifications:

  • Masters Degree

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification

  • Experience in a research institute

  • Proficiency in Workday
