| Detailed Description: | The Department of Philosophy at the University of San Diego invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning the Fall Semester 2026. Area of specialization: History of Modern Philosophy. Area of competence: Open. This position includes a 3/3 teaching load with an expectation that the candidate teach at both the introductory and upper division undergraduate level in the faculty members area of expertise as well as teaching courses for the Universitys core curriculum. A commitment to outstanding teaching is central to the mission of the university. It is expected that faculty maintain an active research agenda that aligns with the teacher/scholar model and engage in service that fits their interests.
