SUMMARY
Provides professional Risk Management services to District sites and departments. Analyzes and makes recommendations to change or improve District practices related to Risk Management. Coordinates centralized Risk Management activities and processes. Research and resolves issues related to Risk Management.
Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with local state and federal regulatory agencies such as but not limited to: OSHA ADOSH Office of the Arizona State Fire Marshal and other related agencies.
Investigates and identifies potential hazards. Recommends corrective actions where necessary.
Develops district programs and trains district staff in compliance with OSHA safety standards. Examples include Hazard Communications Program Lockout/Tagout Confined Space Program and Forklift Program.
Implements comprehensive programs in the areas of general safety hygiene fire and safety and building code safety standards. Seeks to continually improve all programs related to environmental health and occupational safety including but not limited to fire safety laboratory safety OSHA compliance accident and injury investigation and reduction and safety training.
This position will require employees to conduct property inspections accident investigations and property damage assessments. Conducts playground safety inspections. Flexible scheduling for assignments is sometimes required. Department participation for property damage or accident response required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Risk Management or Insurance Business Administration Public Administration or a related field.
OR
Five years progressive experience in analysis of complex data and project management
One year of complex business management or program management experience that includes oversight and business protocol development and management of a team.
Experience identifying compiling and presenting data to detect trends and exposure within complex business systems or large department.
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Experience creating developing scheduling and conducting complex training for staff.
Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge and ability to use word processing databases and spreadsheet programs frequent use in Microsoft Suite Excel Zoom and Adobe.
Experience using SharePoint to include design and editing
Experience conducting property and hazard assessment identifying and monitoring risks. Experience with documenting hazards and corrective actions.
Experience with claims processing to include general liability personal injury vehicle accidents subrogation and workers compensation.
General knowledge of Arizona Workers Compensation regulations and process.
Experience with Fire Marshal inspections compliance and resolutions.
Experience with monitoring and coordinating restoration or other special projects assigned to Risk Management.
Experience with court restitution case management
Knowledge and experience with motor vehicle document administration
Experience using workorder systems such as FAMIS or JIRA.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check.
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles) or proof of MMR immunization.
Valid Arizona Drivers license
