As an Outdoor Program Leader youll be responsible for implementing and instructing for diverse groups including day camps schools and registered programs in:

  • Cross-country skiing
  • Snowshoeing
  • Ice Biking
  • Kicksledding
  • Cycling
  • Shelter building
  • Fire building
  • Tandem canoeing (Paddle Canada Certified)
  • Orienteering
  • GPS navigation
  • Archery
  • Environmental sciences
  • Outdoor based preschool programming
  • Drop in and Spontaneous Use programs

  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Experience working with the general public tour groups and children

Skills required for success:

Conditions of Employment:

  • Possession of valid Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C certification

  • Valid Alberta Class 5 drivers license (or provincial equivalent); You will be required to arrange your own transportation for use while on City business. Where appropriate you will be reimbursed for expenses related to that travel in accordance with City of Edmonton policy

  • Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton and is a requirement of this position

Work Environment:

  • Evening and weekend work is required

  • The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance

Up to 30 Temporary Part-time positions up to 5 months with a possibility of an extension for up to 11 months

Hours of Work: Up to 8 hours shift per day up to 39 hours per week.

Salary: $21.280 - $25.420 (Hourly)
