This opportunity is eligible for a remote hybrid or in-office work arrangement ideally within 1-hour of the Fargo ND office. Pay Level: 021
FLSA Category: Exempt - Salaried
Individual pay will be based on skills experience qualifications location internal equity and other relevant factors.
Opportunities for continued salary growth through a performance-based merit program.
The estimated starting pay for this position is $53089.86 to $69016.71.

A day in the life

The Accounting Analyst is responsible for preparing financial reports performing research and analysis and preparing journal entries for a complex segment of accounting. This may include claims premium insurance reinsurance billings treasury inter-plan programs investments and prescription drug programs. This position reviews financial data and reports for completeness accuracy and compliance.

Your responsibilities will include

Prepares monthly financial reports and statements for internal management and externally for various state and regulatory filings as assigned.
Researches analyzes and prepares monthly journal entries for assigned areas.
Performs account analysis and reconciliations for general ledger and bank accounts.
Assists with annual cash flow projections to ensure adequate cash flow for the organization.
Creates and manages the status of receivable and payable accounts and identifies inconsistencies. Responsible for billing and financial reporting processes.
Provides information and responses to various audits including internal auditors state and federal regulatory agencies and other external auditors.
Completes surveys prepares presentations and conducts other projects as requested.
Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

What you need to succeed

Bachelors degree in Finance Business Accounting or related field.
3 years of general accounting financial statement preparation or related experience.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written formats.
Driven by objectives with a focus on completing accounting tasks with a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
Utilizes analytical skills to interpret financial data.

Equivalent combination of education experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted unless regulated by contract or program standards
