Salary: $70000 - 80000/year
We are seeking a detail-oriented highly organized Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation from pre-trial investigation and discovery to trial and appeals. This role requires strong research skills excellent communication abilities and a solid understanding of court procedures and document management.
Responsibilities
- Draft review and organize legal documents including pleadings motions subpoenas discovery requests/responses and correspondence
- Manage case files and maintain document management systems (physical and electronic)
- Assist attorneys in all aspects of trial preparation including organizing exhibits witness files and trial binders
- Conduct legal and factual research using LexisNexis Westlaw PACER and other legal research tools
- Coordinate and attend depositions hearings and trials as needed
- File legal documents with state and federal courts both electronically (e-filing) and in person if required
- Summarize depositions discovery materials medical records and other case documents
- Track court deadlines and maintain litigation calendars
- Communicate with clients experts witnesses court personnel and opposing counsel
- Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines in multiple jurisdictions
Requirements
- Education: Associates or Bachelors degree; Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred
- Experience: 2 years of litigation paralegal experience preferably in civil litigation or a related practice area
- Strong knowledge of litigation processes including discovery trial and appellate procedures
- Proficiency with legal research tools (Lexis Westlaw) and litigation software (e.g. Relativity CaseMap TrialDirector etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
