The Engineering Academic & Student Affairs office College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for up to one academic professional track (non-tenure accruing) faculty position with full-time or part-time potential at the (visiting) instructional professor or the (visiting) professor of the practice levels with industry experience and/or teaching expertise in engineering. This position would be serving a 9-month appointment with an anticipated employment beginning January 1 2026 though may start earlier. The successful applicant will teach primarily at the undergraduate level and provide extensive support for the Texas A&M Engineering Academies including developing and implementing improvements to instructional techniques and participating in all aspects of the first-year faculty meetings in College Station. The successful applicant will be responsible for the organization delivery evaluation and assessment of the engineering courses and student outcomes associated with those courses. The engineering courses include but may not be limited to introductory engineering; python programming; statics and dynamics; mechanics and electricity & magnetism. Successful applicants will also serve as a liaison between engineering faculty/staff and the two-year partner institutions recruiting of students into the engineering program and advise and mentor undergraduate students and student organizations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. For appointments at (visiting) Professor of the Practice level applicants must have at the minimum a masters level degree appropriate for the field (closely related engineering or science discipline) in which the faculty member will teach and significant teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or in a related field or have an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting. A minimum of 18 years experience as a practicing engineer is required. There may be additional requirements depending on the specific faculty title.
