The Opportunity
A respected independent day school in Warwickshire invites applications for a dedicated and inspiring History Teacher to join its thriving and forward-thinking faculty from January 2026. This is a full-time permanent position teaching across Key Stages 35 (GCSE and A-Level) contributing to a vibrant humanities curriculum that promotes critical thinking independent research and a genuine love of learning.

What Were Looking For
We seek a candidate who:

• Holds a recognised teaching qualification (QTS PGCE or equivalent)
• Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge in History with the ability to teach engaging lessons at GCSE and A-Level
• Can plan and deliver lessons that encourage curiosity debate and analysis
• Uses assessment feedback and differentiation effectively to support pupil progress
• Is reflective adaptable and committed to professional growth within a collaborative department

Experience of leading enrichment activities such as history clubs museum visits academic competitions or student research projects would be an advantage.

The Role in More Detail
You will plan and deliver dynamic history lessons across all year groups encouraging students to explore significant events ideas and individuals with intellectual rigour and creativity. You will help prepare students for public examinations and support them in developing strong historical argument and interpretation skills.

Beyond the classroom you will contribute to departmental planning and enrichment which may include running trips to historical sites coordinating clubs or leading themed events. There will also be opportunities to engage with cross-curricular projects and to play a role in shaping the schools wider cultural and academic programme.
