Schedule Notes: Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by American Radiologic Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required - At least 1 year General Registered Ultrasound experience - Experience in an Acute setting required - No Virtual Interviews - In-Person only - Shift 9:00 AM-5:00 PM and alternating weekends required - Weekends/Holidays required - Training will be for 2 weeks from 9a-5p including the EPIC class

Position Summary: Elmhurst Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Ultrasound Technologist who is registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). The Ultrasound Tech will perform a variety of diagnostic procedures using ultrasound technology in an acute care setting ensuring the acquisition of high-quality images to assist in accurate medical diagnoses. Candidates must be experienced adaptable to a fast-paced hospital environment and able to work scheduled shifts with alternating weekends and holiday coverage.

Key Responsibilities
Perform ultrasound examinations using high-frequency sound waves to produce diagnostic images of internal organs tissues and blood flow.
Prepare patients by explaining procedures answering questions ensuring comfort and safety throughout the exam.
Operate and maintain sonographic equipment ensuring its proper calibration and function.
Accurately capture and review images adapting protocols based on patient condition and diagnostic needs.
Document and communicate pertinent findings to physicians and healthcare team members clearly and promptly.
Comply with hospital infection control and safety policies to ensure patient and staff safety.
Complete all required trainings including a 2-week training program and EPIC electronic medical records system class.
Provide care in an acute setting demonstrating proficient clinical judgment and patient care skills.

Required Qualifications & Experience
Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by ARDMS (Required).
Minimum 1 year of general registered ultrasound experience.
Experience working in an acute care setting.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Ability to work alternating weekends and holidays as required.
Commitment to in-person work; no virtual interviews accepted.

Education & Certification
Completion of an accredited ultrasound technologist training program (or military equivalent).
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential by ARDMS (Required).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
