We have a 1-Year remote Business Analyst contract in Jackson MS. The anticipated official start date is October 13 2025.
Our client is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to support the documentation analysis and improvement of future-state business processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with functional leads and subject matter experts to design optimize and document business workflows using industry-standard notations such as BPMN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with functional leads and SMEs to understand document and index future-state business processes using industry-standard modeling notations (e.g. BPMN).
- Develop detailed Methods and Procedures documentation for tasks requiring step-by-step execution within broader business processes.
- Analyze and assess future-state workflows to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
- Coordinate closely with internal project teams and external vendors (including Development OCM Testing Training etc.) to ensure business process documentation is aligned with overall project objectives and timelines.
- Apply expertise in process mapping modeling techniques and best practices; ensure knowledge and documentation are successfully transitioned at the end of the project.
- Facilitate workshops and conduct interviews as needed to address documentation gaps in business processes or procedures.
- Support the implementation of process enhancements by providing documentation and guidance to relevant stakeholders.
- Track and manage project-related open items related to business processes or procedural documentation driving them to closure using approved documentation.
- Manage interim process design and updates where temporary modifications to standard processes are necessary such as during planned system downtime or when implementing workarounds for production defects.
- Maintain official project records for Business Process and Methods & Procedures documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years Procurement Experience required
- Bachelors degree in business Information Systems or a related field
- Proven experience as a Business Process Modeler or similar role
- Proficiency in using business process modeling tools (e.g. Visio Lucid chart or dedicated BPM tools)
- Strong understanding of business process modeling notations particularly BPMN
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma CMMI) is preferred
- State Government experience and specific experience in DHS or Child Welfare domains is preferred
- Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality deliverables
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working on child welfare projects
