We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join their dynamic team on a full-time permanent basis.
Responsibiltities
- The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is accountable and professionally responsible to the Director of Nursing and works in close collaboration with the Senior Nursing Executive relevant committees medical staff senior managers and department heads to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of nursing services across the organisation.
- As an integral member of the Senior Nursing Executive team the ADON plays a key role in supporting the hospitals mission to deliver high-quality patient-centred care and uphold excellence in clinical practice safety and operational performance.
- The post holder must possess a comprehensive understanding of nursing management demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and have the ability to guide and inspire staff in a continuously evolving healthcare environment.
- This role involves managing nursing staff ensuring the efficient utilisation of resources within approved budgetary allocations and maintaining compliance with all relevant standards and policies.
- To fulfil the requirements of the position specific targets and key objectivesbased on the job descriptionwill be agreed upon by the Director of Nursing for the appointed ADON.
- Performance will be reviewed quarterly during the probationary period and annually thereafter to ensure continuous development and achievement of departmental and organisational goals.
Requirements
Registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligible for registration.
A minimum of 7 years recent post-registration nursing experience including at least 3 years in a nursing management role at CNM2 level or higher.
Hold a postgraduate qualification (Level 8 or higher) on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) in a healthcare or management-related discipline.
Demonstrate the clinical expertise leadership managerial and administrative capabilities necessary for the effective performance of the role.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster collaboration and teamwork.
Provide evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) and a commitment to lifelong learning.
