As a Health Care Assistant (HCA) the post holder will work between the Emergency Department (ED) and the newly established Trauma Reception at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital one of Irelands two designated Major Trauma Centres (MTC).
The role involves delivering high-quality patient-focused care across both settings. The HCA is responsible for assisting with the provision of individualised patient care while under the supervision direction and guidance of a Registered Nurse and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The HCA will be familiar with all policies and procedures of the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital. The HCA will carry out his / her duties to the best of their capabilities having regard for patient safety and patient care. The role is one of a holistic nature and encompasses competencies necessary to fulfil the requirements of the post in line with the Office of Health Management. The primary purpose of this role is to enable the HCA to become familiar and competent across all areas of the ED.
