We are currently looking for a Transport Physician at our Saskatoon Base (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service)
Term: (One-year locum starting ASAP. This contract may be eligible for a 3-year contract extension after the locum period).
Anticipated Time Commitment: 48 hours/month (call and base/flying time)
Position Summary
The Transport Physician reports to the STARS Saskatchewan Medical Director and works with a team of highly skilled medical providers specializing in the care of critically ill and injured patients.
Key Areas of Involvement
The Transport Physician will be an acute care practitioner (emergency medicine anesthesia ICU trauma surgery) who will work with a Registered Flight Nurse and Critical Care Paramedic either in person or on-line to provide high quality care and service which includes rapid response assessment intervention and safe transport of critically ill or injured patients of all ages from the scene of an accident or during inter-facility transfer. This service is provided twenty-four (24) hours a day seven (7) days per week.
