A Real Property Agent is an essential member of our team and we invite you to apply and help contribute to CNLVS growing success!

This posting will create a non-probationary internal Teamster eligibility list and fill 1 vacancy for this classification. The current vacancy is in the Public Works - Real Property Services department. The eligibility list will be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one hundred eighty (180) days. Non-probationary Teamster team members successfully completing the selection process will be placed on the eligibility list.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

  • Pay Considerations The starting hourly pay for this position is 33.47. The selected candidate for this position will start at the beginning of the salary range no exceptions. Existing employees will receive increases as outlined by their bargaining agreement.
  • Work Schedule This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week 9 hours per day (36-hour work week) Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 6:00pm.


    THE ROLE
    Real Property Agent is the entry level in this professional series. Assignments are intended to provide the background and fundamental principles and practices of public agency real estate work. Incumbents initially work under close supervision and are expected to become increasingly knowledgeable and carry out assignments with increasing independence. Receives general supervision from higher level supervisory or management staff.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is a motivated and detail-oriented professional who is eager to grow their career in real property services. They bring experience in researching negotiating and documenting property acquisitions rights-of-way and easements while working within state and federal guidelines. Strong communication skills help them build positive relationships with property owners contractors utility providers and government agencies. They are organized adaptable and able to balance office work with field inspections. A valid drivers license and a commitment to providing excellent customer service round out their qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by professional courses in real estate or field related to the work; and
  • Four years of recent experience involving the principles and practices associated with real property management and acquisitions preferred two years direct involvement in a public agency setting.


    Licenses and Certifications

  • Must possess a valid state drivers license and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain an appropriate Nevada state drivers license within the required time frame

SELECTION PROCESS

  1. Complete online application - Interested candidates MUST submit a completed application through the Citys application system. Evaluation of meeting requirements will be made solely on information provided on the application and any required attachments.
  2. The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume - The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. The selection process will include (dates to be determined).
  3. Personnel File Review - Pass/Fail Minimum passing score is 75%- All current employees seeking internal positions will undergo a personnel file review. The personnel file review includes a current employment status check (probationary/qualifying periods) and a review of active discipline and most recent performance evaluation. Employees with a rating that does not meet minimum standards may be disqualified from this recruitment process.
  4. Oral Board Interview (Weighted 100% Passing Score 70%):
  5. Pre-Employment Screening For non-police positions only: Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. **IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.
  6. Selection/Offers

Note: Subsequent vacancies during the life of the internal eligibility list may require participation in an additional selection interview. The selection interview will be weighted 100% requiring a passing score of 70% in order to be considered for the subsequent position vacancy.

The selection process may include any combination of written performance and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education experience knowledge skills and abilities. The City reserves the right to modify selection devices and test instruments in accordance with accepted legal ethical and professional standards.
