Natural Resources Access Regulator (NRAR) enforces the NSW water laws and offers guidance and education to help water users comply. The Investigations & Enforcement team within NRAR is seeking to appoint a Manager Assessment & Operations in an ongoing full-time basis.

About You

Lead and manage the Triage Assessment team to deliver efficient risk-based assessments of complaints and referrals involving alleged breaches of water law. Oversee quality assurance and continuous improvement processes for triage investigation and enforcement activities across the branch. Provide strategic direction for business coordination advisory services and projects that support investigations and enforcement operations.

Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Lead and oversee the Triage Assessment team providing expert advice managing escalations and ensuring high standards of complaint and referral assessments.
  • Develop implement and maintain quality assurance governance and continuous improvement frameworks embedding learnings into procedures risk registers and capability strategies.
  • Review and approve assessment processes documents and correspondence incorporating stakeholder feedback to promote transparency accountability and customer service.
  • Monitor performance against KPIs analyse operational data to identify trends and drive strategic improvements in collaboration with NRAR branches.
  • Provide guidance and direction to the Business Coordinator and Practice Lead (Investigations) to strengthen systems processes capability and branch performance.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience with overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Experience in complaint handling regulatory or investigative environments.
  • Intra-state travel requiring periods of being away from home.
  • NSW Class C Driver licence.
