The Global Logistics Planning &Market Supply Chainteam oversees supply chain activities involved in delivering goods from manufactures to end consumers. This includes Value Chain Planning Logistics & Fulfilment Distribution and Inventory management activities aimed at reaching and satisfying the customers. The primary objective of the market supply chain is to ensure that products are available to customers in the right quantity at the right time and in the right place while also optimizing costs and maximizing efficiency.
The Materials Planning & Optimization Manager leads the strategic planning and execution of material supply processes to ensure production continuity cost efficiency and inventory optimization. This role involves managing a team collaborating cross-functionally and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Strategic Planning & Development
Develop and implement materials planning strategies aligned with production and business goals.
Contribute to the creation of best practices in materials planning and logistics (MP&L) policies and procedures.
Forecast raw material needs based on production schedules purchasing trends and maintenance plans.
Operational Management
Ensure material supply meets production requirements with minimal stock levels while optimizing costs.
Oversee MRP systems to ensure accurate and timely data for planning and scheduling.
Resolve issues related to over/under delivery and material shortages.
Inventory & Risk Management
Monitor inventory levels turnover and obsolescence to minimize waste and liability.
Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain risks and disruptions.
Ensure integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and inventory accuracy.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Collaborate with procurement production and logistics teams to ensure timely material availability.
Provide feedback on supplier performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Provide regular updates and performance status to leadership team on planning activities and KPIs.
Lead process improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve planning efficiency.
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration Engineering or related field.
Professional certifications (e.g. APICS CPIM/CSCP) are a plus.
5 years in materials planning or supply chain management with 13 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in manufacturing automotive or electronics industries preferred.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP Kinaxis etc.).
Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Advanced Excel and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau).
