What you will be doing

We have two new outstanding opportunities for qualified (must have completed an apprenticeship) Inspectors to join our Derby Compressor Discs and Drums Facility (DCDD) part of Rotatives UK and Compression.

Responsibilities:

In this role you will work with manufacturing programming engineers to implement continuous improvements within the machining programmes. The on-time delivery of components right first time quality is a key objective within DCDD and the machining team play a pivotal part of delivering this goal and delivering our commitments to customer on time in addition you will:

  • Work to Rolls-Royce Technical Instructions to deliver consistent high-quality Inspection across a variety of different components and product families.
  • Operate a variety of measuring equipment including Micrometers plug gauges and surface finish equipment.
  • The interpretation of manufacturing drawings customer drawings and written specifications and understanding programmes.
  • The assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.
  • Work within a team to effectively to ensure we hit our customer commitments.
  • Understand the customer requirements and prioritise work accordingly in line with the planning board.

  • NVQ Level 3 or time served engineering apprenticeship with previous experience relevant to the role you are applying for is essential.
  • Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation calibration Technical instruction and asset care.
  • Looking for candidates who are pro-active and patient individuals that are capable of managing their time effectively.
  • An individual who is confident to work alone or part of a team and will strive to achieve delivery commitments.
  • Someone who is confident and willing to partake in champion roles.

The professional level and salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate but is anticipated to be Derby DDH 3.

This job is advertised at the grades shown and this is the desired operating level for this role.
