Level: Assistant
Descriptive Summary
The Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe nurturing and engaging learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. This role helps ensure that each childs developmental emotional and physical needs are met in accordance with program philosophy licensing regulations and quality standards.
Qualifications
Essential Functions
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing daily activities that promote social emotional cognitive and physical development.
- Provide attentive responsive care for infants toddlers and preschoolers including feeding diapering toileting and supervision during rest times.
- Help maintain a clean safe and organized classroom environment.
- Support childrens positive behavior encouraging self-regulation and problem-solving skills.
- Build warm respectful and supportive relationships with children families and staff.
- Observe and report child progress behaviors or concerns to the Lead Teacher.
- Assist with classroom set-up clean-up and preparation of materials.
- Follow all licensing health and safety regulations as well as center policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge Skills and Abilities)
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or credential in early childhood education preferred.
- Experience working with young children in a group setting preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and engage in active play.
- Strong communication teamwork and reliability.
- Commitment to diversity equity and inclusion in the classroom.
Schedule: Full-time or part-time.
Compensation: Hourly wage commensurate with education and experience.

Work Environment
- The work is performed in a typical office environment
- Some work is performed outdoors in both the winter and summer.
