The responsibilities of this classification include supervising and directing the overall mechanical maintenance teams and program(s) for the West Point wastewater treatment plant and West Section Offsite facilities. Maintenance programs include but are not limited to the repair replacement and preventative maintenance of industrial equipment electrical and instrumentation control systems. Incumbents supervise and direct the work of lead skilled trades semi-skilled trades engineering and technical support positions. Incumbents also assist the treatment plant manager in the development implementation and revision of short- and long-term goals and objectives for the plants operation and maintenance.
The primary function of this role is to lead direct and supervise the team members (maintenance mechanics engine mechanics offsite maintenance mechanics) assigned to the Mechanical Maintenance team for West Operations and Maintenance unit.

Supervise and direct the work of lead skilled trades semi-skilled trades engineering and technical support positions assigned to the maintenance program. Supervisory responsibilities include hiring conducting performance evaluations training and recommending disciplinary actions.
Supervise the review and coordination of preventative and maintenance practices including life cycle analysis of equipment and forecasting short- and long-term equipment needs equipment replacement and repairs.
Develop and implement the work units operating and capital budgets; make recommendations on budget expenditures and monitor expenditures to ensure that budget is within established guidelines.
Develop implement and maintain internal maintenance business policies and procedures for all equipment and systems at the treatment plant.
Represent the section and/or division on capital replacement expansion and new facility projects.
Act as the maintenance representative on capital improvement projects to provide input and direction on what the maintenance requirements will be for the designated project. Provide technical expertise on maintenance related issues that arise during the development implementation and start-up of assigned projects.
Participate in the planning development and implementation of systems and/or processes to support the maintenance program at the treatment plant.
Participate as a member of the section or division management team and act as the section or division management representative on internal and external committees.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications You Bring:
Prior or current wastewater maintenance supervisor experience or 3 years of industrial maintenance lead responsibilities
Demonstrable experience with Capital Project teams and other work groups consultants or contractors.
Experience with CMMS systems and how to utilize extrapolated data in a meaningful way.
Practical and progressive experience in an industrial maintenance setting craft or trade.
Managing budgets and Capital project support.
Demonstrated experience in planning scheduling coordination and prioritization.
Good interpersonal and communications skills.
Strong mechanical machining welding background and experience.
Must be able to physically move in and around county worksites such as treatment plants regulator stations pump stations to observe work and participate in work and project planning.
Must be able drive unencumbered to different locations throughout the service area as required.

Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. This position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and is notovertime eligible.
Union Representation: This position is represented by Teamsters Local 117 Wastewater Treatment Division Supervisor.
NOTE:Salary reflects $1.00 per hour contribution to the Western Conference of Teamsters Pension Trust.
