Job Summary

We are currently seeking a qualified Senior Planner/Scheduler to join our Mining team based out of Saskatoon SK. The Senior Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for Planning and Scheduling and have the opportunity to work on KSPC Ramp Up Project and other various Bantrel ProjectsJoin us in this Contract role and be a champion of diversity and inclusion.

Working with minimal supervision this candidate must have experience in engineering and/or construction planning and scheduling.  Provides technical guidance training auditing and staffing support for planning and scheduling on Bantrel projects.  Capable of setting up project schedules (including schedule preparation plan and basis) and proposal schedules.  Reviews and provides input into technical standards guidelines and procedures for developing maintaining and monitoring project schedules.  Candidate must be capable in Pipeline Planning and the use of TILOS.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Interfaces with designated Bantrel management and client counterparts for specific planning and scheduling tasks.
  • Supports business development with proposal efforts and provides input to proposals and client presentations.
  • Audits projects to ensure the quality of planning and scheduling functions.
  • Develops and implements planning and scheduling training programs.
  • Responsible for performance evaluation process and career counseling for assigned personnel.
  • Conducts personnel performance reviews when delegated.
  • Interviews candidates and makes recommendations for employment decisions.
  • Participates in developing and presenting training classes on designated subjects and on-the-job training for specific processes and practices.
  • Duties will vary depending on Home Office versus Field Office assignment.
  • Duties performed are dictated by project requirements.

Qualifications :

  • Engineering Degree Technical School diploma or equivalent work experience. 
  • 9 to 11 years of experience in a Project Controls related field. 
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Project Controls Lead.
  • Background should include a mix of Home Office and Site experience
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to take on increasing responsibility. 
  • Has had some supervisory experience on small to intermediate size projects and demonstrates an ability to interact with corporate management and client as required.
  • Mentoring and developing junior project controls staff.
  • Able to lead the schedule/system implementation at project initiation.
  • Ability to ensures that corporate Planning/Scheduling procedures are followed and that job specific job instructions are prepared upon project initiation.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
