The Tax Analyst Junior role is an operational position responsible for supporting the day-to-day tax activities. The role involves processing tax documentation preparing and filing tax returns and contributing to compliance with Brazils and Informas tax framework meeting all statutory tax obligations. The Junior Tax Analyst will provide technical skills to your team and contribute to the success of the organisation.
You must ensure that all company policies are adhered to and that specific duties are carried out within set time limits whilst providing an excellent level of service to all Informa customers and colleagues.
Key responsibilities
Reporting into the Local Tax and Compliance Lead the Tax Analyst Junior is expected to assume the following key responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required:
Management / General
- Gather data prepare and file government tax returns for multiple entities.
- Preparation of Tax filings obligation.
- Tax invoice entry.
- Preparation of federal and municipal indirect tax returns.
- Calculate and process monthly indirect tax payments.
- Preparation of property tax filings and business registrations.
- Prepare tax account reconciliations.
- Review of exemption certificates.
- Monitor the validity of tax certificates and ensure their renewal within the deadline.
- Assisting with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities or internal customers.
- Maintaining organized digital and physical tax documentation archives.
- Preparing and analyzing tax reports for management review.
- Assisting with tax refund applications and follow-up processes.
- Helping and following up with tax calendar management to ensure timely compliance.
- Participating in tax technology implementation and improvement projects.
- Supporting tax provision calculations for financial reporting.
- Researching tax legislation updates and their potential impact.
- General administration duties.
Skills & Abilities
- Good communication skills at all levels including a wide range of stakeholders within the business
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills
- Languages: Intermediate/Advanced English
- Pro-active and take initiative and encourage teams to do the same
- Act with integrity tact and diplomacy
- Organised diligent with attention to detail and the ability to maintain these skills whilst working under pressure
- Good skills in Excel Word Outlook and Teams are essential
Qualifications :
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Good knowledge and understanding of all Tax processes including best practices processes and technology.
- Knowledge of ORACLE system desirable
- Recognised qualification
- more than 2 years of relevant experience in Finance Services or Tax roles
