The Kenai Trial Court of the Alaska Court System (ACS) is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Court Case Manager 1 (salary range 10). This position will perform case processing duties and serve as a primary contact with the public.
Specifically this position will be the weekend criminal clerk. This position works an alternate workweek of Thursday-Monday with Tuesday-Wednesday being regular days off.
Employees working in this job classification will be considered for annual salary increases upon successful completion of a 1-year probationary period. This job classification will promote to range 11 after successful completion of three years of service with the court.
The Position
This position is responsible for receipting payments accurately counting money and providing correct change and maintaining a balanced and accurate cash drawer.
The incumbent in this position must possess exceptional customer service skills as they will be the first point of contact for customers visiting the clerks office. You will quickly assess customer needs based on limited information utilizing strong listening skills and a thorough understanding of case processing procedures and document filing requirements. You must remain calm under pressure and respond professionally to demanding internal or external customers all while multitasking maintaining attention to detail and efficiently performing the positions duties.
This position will be assigned case processing responsibilities within a specific case type (or types) and serve as the offices expert. However flexibility is essential as cross-training supports efficient workflow uninterrupted customer service and the ability to provide coverage for absent team members. You will run regular audit reports to ensure the accuracy and integrity of case file management systems. You will routinely review these reports to maintain high standards of quality and accountability in your work.
You may be assigned various additional duties or special projects as needed. These may include but are not limited to: in-court responsibilities microfilming managing supplies and inventory basic technology troubleshooting providing training to staff and actively participating in meetings or committeesoffering opportunities to demonstrate leadership and contribute to team development.

The Work Hours
Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Thursday Monday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of office clerical experience.
Substitution:
Additional office clerical work experience will substitute for the high school diploma or GED certificate on a month-for-month basis.
Completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college will substitute for the year of required office clerical experience.
Completion of an appropriate vocational training course of study such as legal secretary paralegal or office skills will substitute for the required office clerical experience on a month-for-month basis.
