Senior Cloud Engineer

With 36 facilities worldwide Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing (BPT) is the largest network of bio/pharmaceutical GMP product testing laboratories providing comprehensive laboratory services for the worlds largest pharmaceutical biopharmaceutical and medical device companies.
BPT is enabled by global engineering teams working on next-generation applications and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). As Senior Cloud Engineer you will be a crucial part of our delivery team ensuring the product features are completely automated and reducing the idea to live time to Business. This role reports to a Manager.
Required Experience and Skills
Experience:
- Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering primarily with Microsoft Azure
- Proven experience in managing production-grade cloud infrastructure in enterprise environments
- Background in DevOps SRE or infrastructure automation is highly valued
- Experience in multi-region deployments cloud migrations or hybrid environments is preferred
Specific skills required
- Cloud Platforms
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure including:
- Management Groups Subscriptions Resource Groups
- Virtual Networks Azure App Services Azure Functions
- Azure Identity and Access Management (IAM) RBAC
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud and on-prem integrations
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure including:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Proficiency in ARM Templates Terraform Bicep or similar IaC tools
- Automation scripting using PowerShell YAML or CLI tools
- Kubernetes & Containerization
- Hands-on experience with AKS and Docker
- Experience managing containerized applications and deployments in cloud environments
- Cloud Cost Optimization
- Working knowledge of cost management and optimization techniques in Azure
- Familiarity with cost analysis tools and strategies to control resource spend
- CI/CD Pipelines:
- Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Integration of infrastructure deployment into application pipelines
- Monitoring & Logging:
- Hands-on with Azure Monitor Log Analytics Application Insights
- Setting up dashboards alerts and incident response processes
- Version Control & Code Management:
- Working knowledge of Git Azure Repos and branching/merge strategies
- Security & Compliance:
- Implementing security policies Azure Blueprints role-based access control (RBAC) and encryption standards
Desirable Experience
- Experience with Azure Arc Azure Policy and security compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO SOC HIPAA)
- Familiarity with other cloud providers (e.g. AWS GCP)
- Experience with legacy application modernization and cloud migration strategies
- Creating re-usable templates and modules for cloud resources
- Experience working with YAML-based release definitions

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Engineering Computer Science or equivalent.
- Microsoft certifications such as:
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Azure Administrator Associate
- DevOps Engineer Expert

Required Qualifications:
- MCA or Bachelors in Engineering Computer Science or equivalent.
PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL CRITERIA: Eurofins has a strong focus on Performance Management system. This includes quarterly calibrations half-yearly reviews and annual reviews. The KPIs shall be set and may vary slightly between projects. These will be clearly communicated documented during the first 30 days of your joining.
