What will you do in this job
- Support the Store Manager / DOR in providing ongoing retail product and customer service training to new and existing staff
- Hire onboard and train new seasonal staff
- Assist in planning organizing and conducting merchandise changeovers or products moves following Pursuits operating plans
- Strong focus on store operations focusing on team member and customer engagement
- Leading by example and upholding Pursuits 4 Core Values and Hospitality Standards.
- Ensure compliance with Pursuits Health & Safety Standards
- Assist in managing monthly budgets and forecasts by managing weekly schedules weekly sales targets and adjusting as needed based on business levels and demands
- Manage all aspects of store schedules ensuring labour to revenue targets are followed
- Directly supervise Retail Associates and Team Leads
- Foster a positive team culture while strengthening staff relationships through the coordination of team-building events and activities
- Perform coaching and performance reviews when necessary communicating action plans and performance results with Store Manager
- Spend a maximum of 10% of the work week performing office tasks assisting Store Manager as needed
- Manage all cash-control processes ensuring bank deposits are complete in a timely manner
- Communicate directly with Buyers on floor and on-hand inventory and order suggestions while ensuring floor is fully stocked with product
- Train and manage employees on all POS systems operational tasks and Pursuit attractions
- Manage store inventory communicate any expired and/or damaged products to Retail Inventory plan as per Pursuits operating plan
- Manage all storage rooms ensuring a safe and clean environment for staff to replenish product
- Professionally and effectively handle any guest issues or concerns train Team Leads on refunds/exchanges and common customer issues
What skills and experience do you need for this job
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
- Customer service and cash handling experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative
- Able to communicate fluently in English secondary language skills are an asset
- Valid drivers license
- Thrives in a fast paced high energy work environment
