Job Summary

Role Description/Summary

The position will provide direction and supervision to the Vaccination Crews to achieve quality safety and operational goals. This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and overall results for this department and maintaining compliance with company policies and governmental regulations.

Essential Job Functions Must be able to perform these tasks with or without reasonable accommodations.

1. Ensure team members are performing assigned tasks and provide supervision

2. Train team members-bird handling vaccination procedures Biosecurity safe work environment

3. Maintain records of employee attendance and payroll information

4. Conduct weekly safety toolbox talks safety observation and Biosecurity talks. The position will provide direction and supervision to the Vaccination Crews to achieve quality safety and operational goals. This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and overall results for this department and maintaining compliance with company policies and governmental regulations.

5. Ensure all company bio-security policies and procedures are followed by crews.

6. Ensure team members comply with company humane animal care policies/procedures and government regulations

7. Oversee the setup and take down of work station supplies and equipment

8. Ensure each individual bird is vaccinated following designated bird handling and accounting processes

9. Maintain accurate bird counts totals # of vaccines used/remaining and the corresponding paperwork

10. Maintain accurate vaccine documentation such as vaccination name lot numbers expiration etc.

11. Identity opportunities to make processes more efficient and in alignment with overall organization goals

Other Responsibilities

1. Help in other Opal Operations when needed.

2. Assist SR Pullet Manager in other areas of Pullet Operations as needed.

3. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.

3. Demonstrated ability to effectively speak read and write in English.

4. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage team members including strong communication skills.

5. Must have mechanical understanding with ability to trouble shoot basic mechanics and ability to guide processing maintenance technicians.

6. Must be a hands and interactive manager willing to teach/train team members

Preferred Qualifications Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

1. 2-to-4-year degree in agriculture business relevant course of studies.

2. Demonstrated ability to effectively speak read and write in Spanish.

3. 5 plus years progressive experience in live poultry or related fields.
