Duties & Responsibilities- Safety first - follow safe work methods and adherence to safety protocol including personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
- Align components using calipers rulers and clamp pieces.
- Weld components using manual welding equipment in various positions (vertical horizontal or overhead).
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
- Keep area and uniform clean.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG MIG MMA etc.).
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws squares calipers etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (gloves etc.) and must provide own welding helmet.
- Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus.
- Desired 2 years of experience as a Welder but will train.
- Punctual reliable and conscientious.
- High School diploma or equivalent (or in High School Trade Program).
- Punctual reliable and conscientious.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs safely walk and stand for long periods of time bend and lift product as needed following safe work methods.
