Job Summary

The MRI Technologist will perform quality MRI images per physicians orders while providing excellent service to patients.

This is a part-time (0.2 FTE) position working every other weekend out of our Waconia and Edina Crosstown locations.

Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health) a group of local medical practices owned and led by its physicians on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform MRI procedures in close proximity to super conducting magnet on designated portions of the body for physicians use in diagnosing and treating illness or injury
  • Inform and prepare patients for procedures including researching implanted devices
  • Maintain patient files including internal and external films
  • Prepare clean and stock work area with supplies
  • Coordinates equipment maintenance and repair
  • Maintains the necessary precautions for excessive radiofrequency exposure
  • May include IV contrast administration as needed
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate of an ARRT or ARMRIT approved program
  • ARRT Certification Magnetic Resonance ARMRIT Certified or a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in an MRI department required.

  • Actual starting pay will vary based on education skills and experience.
  • A $4000 sign-on bonus will be offered payable on first paycheck with a 12-month commitment. Internal applicants are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.

      Essential Requirements:

      Ability to:

      • Work in a high magnetic field up to 1.5 Tesla.
      • Comply with company policies procedures practices and business ethics guidelines.
      • Complete job required training.
      • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations (e.g. HIPAA Stark OSHA employment laws etc.)
      • Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
      • Work in the clinic during business hours
      • Travel independently throughout the clinic (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending lifting stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required
      • Work at an efficient and productive pace handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
      • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
      • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
      • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems establish facts and draw valid conclusions
      • Understand and execute a variety of instructions
      • Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
      • Work independently with minimal supervision
      • Travel to other work locations if required

      Physical Requirements:

      • Ability to work independently at least 90% of the time.
      • Frequent lift up to 35 lbs. occasional lift up to 50 lbs.
      • Push/pull occasionally up to 50 lbs. or persons in wheelchairs weighing up to 300 lbs.
      • Frequent patient positioning including bending stooping squatting twisting & reaching.
