Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit in Irving this role you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care through comprehensive assessments care planning and patient/family education. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe effective and personalized care throughout the childbirth experience.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform detailed clinical assessments of patients and prioritize care based on patient and family needs.
- Develop implement and evaluate individualized care plans; revise plans as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and their families while managing discomfort and providing emotional support.
- Provide patient and family education to empower informed healthcare decisions. Assess and document educational needs on an ongoing basis.
- Collaborate with physicians colleagues and community partners to coordinate and deliver high-quality care.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff and ensure timely follow-up.
- Use critical thinking and problem-solving strategies to address challenges and maintain patient safety and care efficiency.
- Maintain professional standards contribute to the development of peers and participate in community service initiatives.

- Strong knowledge of nursing practices standards and protocols.
- Familiarity with nursing laws healthcare regulations and hospital policies.
- Solid understanding of medical terminology disease prevention and medication administration including potential side effects.
- Commitment to nursing ethics and patient privacy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
- Critical thinking and sound judgment in fast-paced situations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications including Microsoft Office EMR systems scheduling and secure communication.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Active and unencumbered RN license in the state of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery.
