Job Description:
- Assembles parts of various materials such as plastic metal rubber to produce small products such as roller brackets voice annunciators or subassemblies by performing the following duties.
- Perform testing activities follow simple procedures report any unexpected behavior.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Positions parts in specified relationship to each other.
- Bolts screws clips cements or otherwise fastens parts together.
- Works at bench as member of assembly group assembling one or two specific parts and passing unit to another worker.
- Loads and unloads previously setup machines such as arbor presses drill presses taps spot-welding machines riveting machines milling machines or broaches to perform fastening force fitting or light metal cutting operation on assembly line.
- Works at different workstations as production needs require or shifts from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor.
- Run testing procedure on machinery equipment. Follow procedures report testing results to test supervisor. Test includes repetitive motions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma; and up to at least one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Have basic shop math skills and ability to read and interrupt blueprints
Language Ability:
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Math Ability:
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement volume and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
- To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software.
Physical Demands:
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision and depth perception.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger handle or feel and stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather).
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and work near moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
