Job Description

Senior Spatial Data Warehousing Specialist

FedTec is seeking a skilled Senior Spatial Data Warehousing Specialist to lead enterprise efforts to build and evolve geospatial and alphanumeric data warehouses and data lakes. This senior role consolidates and geospatially enables data for mapping reporting self-service business intelligence and analysis across a decentralized organization. The specialist is responsible for planning and executing major assignments coordinating with federal staff and stakeholders and applying modern data warehousing approaches to deliver authoritative well-documented and high-value spatial data resources.

Location: (Remote) Lakewood CO

Security Clearance: Must be able to pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design build and maintain spatially enabled data warehouses and lakes that integrate geospatial and tabular datasets for enterprise use including maps dashboards and analytic products.
  • Lead strategy and work plans for data integration including lifecycle requirements domain modeling and source-to-target mapping.
  • Perform data discovery with program offices to identify sources assess value and prioritize integration into enterprise warehousing.
  • Develop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines and service-based integrations to ingest transform and publish prioritized datasets.
  • Implement and maintain metadata standards and data quality controls; conduct validation gap analysis and remediation to improve reliability.
  • Develop high-level logical and physical models integration architecture and data services/exchange patterns.
  • Prototype and deliver dashboards maps and reports to demonstrate value enable self-service BI and support decision-making.
  • Document warehouse architecture workflows and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate with data governance staff to align warehousing practices with NPS Data Strategy and DOI governance requirements.
  • Support cloud integrations and evaluate emerging approaches/technologies to improve scalability and performance.
  • Provide senior technical leadership planning and mentoring to journey-level staff.

Basic Qualifications Required Education Certifications Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience building data warehouses that include spatial data.
  • Experience producing dashboards reports or maps from aggregated datasets.
  • Proven ability to plan and lead major assignments evaluate results recommend changes and function as a technical expert.
  • Strong technical depth with traditional data warehousing data lakes and modern data stack approaches.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across a matrixed organization with diverse stakeholders.
  • Minimum Citizenship Status Requirements: US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with enterprise GIS systems and RDBMS that support geospatial data.
  • Experience aligning warehousing practices with governance standards and metadata frameworks.
  • Experience assessing and recommending reporting and visualization platforms.
  • Advanced degree or certification in GIS data warehousing or data management.
