Job Description

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Specialty: Meds by Mail (MbM) / CHAMPVA prescription processing support
Location: 2103 Veterans Blvd Suite 21 Dublin GA 31021
Duration: 1 year contract

Shift Schedule:

8-hour shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM 7:30 PM Monday Friday.

Hours may expand to evenings/weekends/split shifts based on workload/emergencies.

License /Certifications:

  • Certified by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Minimum Qualification/ Experience:

  • Minimum 6 months experience in retail or hospital pharmacy or graduate of an academic Pharmacy Technician training program.
  • Basic typing and PC skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Read/interpret prescriptions; identify missing info; communicate with providers/patients for clarification.
  • Enter medication details (strength dosage form directions quantity days supply) per MbM policy; process refills/renewals (pharmacist verifies).
  • Work various queues (e.g. add providers to MbM database; support specialty teams).
  • Operate pharmacy automation and office equipment (scanner fax printers software).
  • Use pharmacy systems to flag basic therapeutic issues (e.g. duplicate therapy) for pharmacist review.
  • Process returned medications per policy.
  • Perform call-center tasks per policy/law; document oral disclosures in EHR.
  • Report medication errors/quality issues per MbM Quality & Safety program.
  • Participate in medication histories/allergies/ADR/compliance reviews with patients/caregivers.
