Job Summary
Operations/Warehouse Manager
Location: Cape Town
Salary Type: Annual Currency: Rand (R)
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the warehouse ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage inventory levels conducting regular stock checks and reconciliation to maintain accurate records.
- Implement effective warehouse layout and logistics strategies to optimize space utilization and workflow.
- Supervise and train warehouse staff promoting a safe and productive work environment.
- Develop and monitor performance metrics to evaluate staff efficiency warehouse operations and overall productivity.
- Coordinate with suppliers and logistics providers to facilitate timely deliveries and maintain supply chain integrity.
- Prepare regular reports on warehouse performance inventory status and other key operational metrics for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as environmental standards related to warehouse operations.
- Manage budgets control costs and identify opportunities for operational cost savings.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in logistics supply chain management business administration or a related field.
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar operational role.
- Strong understanding of inventory management software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Excellent logistical and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate team members.
- Effective communication skills in English both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint).
Desired Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in a warehouse operations or management role.
- Experience within the leather or fashion industry is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and project management.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and logistics/supply chain best practices.
