This Position reports to:
Workshop/Internal Logistics ManagerIn this role you will have the opportunity to be responsible for local import/export operations. Each day you will supervise performance of customs brokers. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring smooth execution of operational trade and customs activities within a local unit including relevant documentation and compliance with regulations.
The work model for the role is: Onsite
You will be mainly accountable for:
Acting as point of contact for customs brokers incase of clarification needs (e.g. regarding evaluation or classification of products).
Audit customs brokers regarding the correctnessof customs entries invoicing
Managing the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient cost-effective and lawful execution of all import/export activities.
Maintaining and sharing with colleagues as appropriate personal knowledge of all relevant import/export laws and procedures tariffs duties licenses and restrictions.
Uses various transportation software systems to facilitate material movement planning and scheduling. Customs and trade applications.
Prepares and updates monthly logistics schedule toensure deliveries to customer locations and coordinates product delivery schedule with project / sales team.
Coordinates daily to track location andmovement of finished goods and raw materials via all transport modes re-routes freight as needed to meet demands and minimize cost.
Works closely with transport service providers andbrokers to assure efficient cost-effective execution of business requirements obtaining necessary transport permitsand codes prepares transportation paperwork for import and export.
Fulfils shipping packing and advises on markingprocedures per project requirements in compliance with governmental regulations.
Data management Supports the development and implementation of improved processes and systems and maintains master data when required.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelors Degree or National Diploma in Transport or Logistics management
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Familiar with working on SAP & BOL
- Strong knowledge of transport planning and order handling process.
- Must be a team player customer oriented and an ability to perform under pressure
- Solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
- Microsoft office experience essential for role
