Working as part of the People & provides professional and operational HR generalist support to the organisation and support the People & Partnerships (P&P) Business Partner in delivering on the People & Culture People Strategy.
What youll be doing:
- Work alongside the P&P Business Partner to meet the organisations requirements for P&C related advice and responsibilities such as Employee Relation cases restructures P&C policy and process advice. Provide general advice on relevant legislation such as the Fair Work Act National Employment Standards & Equal Employment.
- Coordination of the management of employee maintenance and position changes.
- Provision of general human resources advice and guidance to Council leaders and employees requiring interpretation of Councils Enterprise Agreement.
- Ensuring accuracy of relevant information on the Human Resources Information System (CHRIS21) is managed and maintained.
- Provision of high-level customer service to staff at all levels within Council whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism integrity and confidentiality.
- Provision of high-level administration and generalist support across all areas of the HR department as required.
- Supporting the organisation through the Business Partner People & Partnerships model working alongside the allocated Business Partner People & Partnerships
- Review online forms/documentation to ensure accuracy and appropriate approvals have been obtained prior to actioning.
- Generate letters and correspondence for employee maintenance/new employees and changes such as letter of offers reclassifications secondments variations and probationary confirmations.
- Maintain recording system for the completion of annual performance appraisals.
- Accurately process performance appraisals update in CHRIS21 and complete report for Payroll processing.
- Complete follow ups on monthly reports in a timely manner.
- Provide accurate responses to enquiries and requests for advice from Council staff applicants and other relevant stakeholders.
- Provide basic interpretation and advice of Councils Enterprise Agreement.
The skills and experience youll bring to the role:
- Relevant experience in a generalist Human Resources/People & Culture role.
- Ability to interpret and follow guidelines policies procedures and relevant Enterprise Agreements and legislation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel and knowledge of specialised software packages including a Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
- Ability to manage competing work priorities and provide timely professional and accurate information whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality at all times.
- Well-developed interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare and provide high quality accurate information and documentation reports and correspondence.
