Java Tech Lead

Position Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge St) and/or client office at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. Lead the design development and deployment of cost-effective and sustainable technical/application solutions.
. Translate complex business requirements into appropriate system solutions using advanced methods and models.
. Identify and resolve technical issues and design flaws during development phases.
. Proven experience as a Java Architect delivering enterprise system solutions.
. 10 years of development experience with Java 11/21 and JEE (expert level).
. 5 years of experience with Java frameworks (Spring MVC Spring Boot) and related libraries/tools.
. 5 years of experience in public cloud environments (e.g. Azure) including cloud-native applications using Docker/containers and Kubernetes.
. Strong knowledge of Microservices Architecture RESTful APIs and design patterns.
. Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes OpenShift).
. Expertise in Azure services (Blob Storage Azure Files Azure Functions APIM Gateway Azure Redis etc.).
. Deep understanding of RDBMS (MySQL PostgreSQL Oracle) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB Cassandra Redis).
. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins GitHub Actions Maven/Gradle Terraform).
. Proficiency with version control (Git) code quality tools (SonarQube Fortify) and monitoring tools (AppDynamics Dynatrace).
. Knowledge of security practices (OAuth2 JWT API Gateway policies encryption).
. Experience with performance tuning and optimization of Java applications.
