The full-time starting salary is normally 35331 per annum with progression to 39002 per annum.

We have an exciting maternity cover opportunity for an Enterprise Adviser within the Careers and Employability Directorate. This role offers an opportunity for a motivated and multi-skilled person to support delivery of our enterprise offer. This includes the Hatchery Female Founders and BSEEN programmes which supports students who are keen to start a business developing their knowledge and skills to succeed with their future venture. You will have a direct impact on students and graduates running engaging workshops and events running 1:1s with students and collaborating with external partners to deliver valuable initiatives.
In addition to supporting our enterprise programmes you will also support coordination of our ongoing activities and sessions including showcase and networking events; alumni entrepreneur panel sessions and interactive enterprise sessions delivered with academic partners within the curriculum.
We are looking for someone with previous experience of developing and delivering enterprise support bringing experience in different industries and sectors to offer new ideas that enhance our overall service. You should have a creative approach especially around engaging students and graduates and have previous experience of providing advice to individuals. You will be comfortable working independently while playing a pivotal part in a small fast-paced and ambitious team seeking to make a real impact on students and graduates prospects.

In this important role linked to Talent for Tomorrow a designated pillar within the 2030 strategy you will work closely with academic and Careers colleagues external partners and other stakeholders to co-create flexible and impactful employability services that support our students progression into successful careers.
You will be joining a supportive and encouraging Student Opportunities team within the Careers service who have a real passion and desire to improve student outcomes and progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partnership Working:Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to increase opportunities and engagement with the wider Enterprise offer including skills sessions bootcamps BSEEN and Hatchery programmes networking opportunities and related activities.
- Student Support:Work closely with students and graduates through 1:1s small group delivery and larger embedded sessions to support them as they progress through their enterprise journey providing relevant support at each stage
- Event and Programme Management:Support overall coordination and planning of relevant enterprise programmes working closely with the Enterprise Manager to include promotion working with partners monitoring engagement and supporting financial processes where appropriate.
- Reporting and Evaluation:Use key CRM systems effectively to support the team and effectively track students and graduates and the impact of services.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Experience of working on and developing enterprise activities and opportunities ideally within an HE environment.
- Relevant experience in a similar role supporting students in being professionally ready to enter the workplace and in supporting them on their enterprise journey through 1:1s and session delivery
- Experience of providing first-line advice and guidance and the ability to resolve a broad range of first-line student queries
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills with the ability to flex communication style and build good relationships.
- A high standard of IT skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office information systems or similar databases.

The appointed candidate will normally be employed through our subsidiary company BCU Support Services Limited a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University. Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly.
