YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Platform Management
- Support and maintain data platforms for multiple clients across Azure Microsoft Fabric and other cloud environments
- Manage and optimize on-premise data platform solutions
- Ensure high availability performance and security of client data infrastructure
- Monitor platform health and proactively address potential issues
Data Pipeline Development
- Design build and maintain robust data pipelines for ETL/ELT processes
- Implement real-time and batch data processing solutions
- Optimize data flows for performance and cost-effectiveness
- Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues to ensure reliable data delivery
Infrastructure as Code
- Collaborate With DevOps to create and maintain infrastructure using Terraform for scalable repeatable deployments
- Manage cloud resources and infrastructure provisioning across multiple client environments
- Implement infrastructure best practices for security monitoring and disaster recovery
- Collaborate with DevOps to establish CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure
Client Support & Collaboration
- Work directly with clients to understand their data requirements and business objectives
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations for data architecture improvements
- Document solutions and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
- Participate in client meetings and technical reviews
WHO YOU ARE:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our managed services team where youll play a critical role in supporting and maintaining data platforms for our diverse client portfolio. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies while solving complex data challenges across multiple industries.
Technical Skills
- Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with Microsoft Azure services (Data Factory Synapse Azure SQL Storage Accounts etc.)
- Microsoft Fabric: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric components and capabilities
- Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management is a plus
- Data Engineering: 5 years of experience building and maintaining data pipelines
- Programming: Strong skills in Python SQL and PowerShell/Bash scripting
- On-Premise Systems: Experience with traditional data platforms and hybrid cloud architectures
Platform Expertise
- Azure Data Services (Data Factory Synapse Analytics Databricks Event Hubs)
- Microsoft Fabric
- Database technologies (SQL Server PostgreSQL NoSQL databases)
- Data integration tools and methodologies
- Multi-cloud environments (AWS GCP experience is a plus)
Professional Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication skills for client-facing interactions
- Experience working in a managed services or consulting environment
- Ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously
- Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing practices
BONUS SKILLS
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field
- Azure certifications (Azure Fabric/Data Engineer Associate Azure Solutions Architect)
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Azure Monitor Grafana etc.)
- Experience with agile development methodologies
