Job Description

We are looking for a legal counsel with 3-5 years of legal experience in cryptocurrency regulatory and commercial agreements to join our team in this role you will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating cryptocurrency market maker and related agreements as well as drafting internal policies preparing registration applications and reviewing proposed investments in digital assets. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in digital assets and possess expertise in commercial law.

Your Core Responsibilities

Contract Review & Negotiation:

  • Advise on relevant international regulations governing cryptocurrencies blockchain and digital assets including European regulations.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements involving token market making partnerships and digital asset transactions.
  • Support the organizations compliance efforts including advising on AML/KYC matters conducting due diligence reviews and identifying relevant licensing requirements.
  • Monitor legislative and policy developments in crypto regulation and provide proactive legal strategies.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential legal risks and proactively provide solutions.
  • Support global licensing applications across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Advise senior business finance and compliance leads on relevant commercial legal and regulatory risks to help the team make informed risk assessments and decisions.
  • Collaborate with team members (legal compliance finance) across regions to identify regional legal or regulatory risks and propose potential solutions or risk mitigation actions.

Your Skills and Experience

Professional Experience:

  • Approximately 3-5 years of relevant legal experience at a Law Firm and/or as an In-house Legal Counsel with a focus on:
    • Regulatory & Compliance Expertise knowledge of MiCAR and other relevant international crypto regulations. Knowledge of US regulations is a plus but not required.
    • Corporate & Transactional Skills experience in commercial drafting contract review and negotiation.

Technical & Interpersonal Skills:

  • Keen ability to grasp blockchain technologies algorithmic trading and liquidity provision.
  • Solid negotiation communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in using contract lifecycle management systems or similar tools.
  • Willingness to work outside standard hours if required by market or project timelines.

Specialized Expertise:

  • Strong interest in crypto (e.g. academic focus personal projects or internships).
  • Experience working on cross-functional or cross-regional projects.
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English.

Educational Background:

  • Academic Law degree.
