The salary range for this role based in New York is $24.00. The range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process by assessing a candidatesexperience skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for assisting the Network team with the administration of the Network environment including installation configuration and maintenance of hardware. This may involve our Monitoring systems Wifi tools firewalls routers switches and working with Internet Service Providers & Network Security services.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties may include any of the following:
- Daily Operations Assist Network Engineers in addressing and troubleshooting system problems
- Network Support Provide on-site eyes and ears to troubleshoot network issues in Windsor locations. Perform configuration of network devices (Wifi routers switches etc.) across offices in North & South America.
- Performance & Tuning Monitor systems to ensure optimum performance levels and update the monitoring system or related systems due to changes in the environment
- Change Management Following established IT change management policy and procedures test schedule and implement changes on test and live environments.
- Documentation - Maintain a comprehensive system hardware and software configuration database and all supporting documentation for relevant systems.
KEY COMPETENCIES AND KPIs
- : Must be enrolled in a technology program. Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Skills/ Competencies:
Client Skills
- Knowledge of client DNS & DHCP technologies
- Knowledge of client Wifi features like 2.4/5Ghz SSIDs etc.
- Knowledge of basic troubleshooting tools ping ipconfig nslookup
Network Skills
- Knowledge of the OSI 7 layer model
- Knowledge of Wifi principles like 802.11a/b/g/n standards interference
- Knowledge of routing principles like static routing dynamic routing
- Knowledge of firewall principles like stateful inspection Access Control
- Knowledge of security principles like VPN Web Security IPS
Hands-on Experience is a plus
- Cisco device IOS command line using SSH and telnet
- Cisco Wireless LAN Controller GUI
