Software Development Engineer II, Special Projects

Special Projects is seeking a founding member of our technical team who is an experienced engineer combining superb technical research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This hire will develop the foundational end to end architecture of a consumer-facing application that serves large enterprises in the energy space. As a Software Development Engineer on our team youll build innovative solutions that redefine customer experiences and directly impact millions of customers worldwide.

Key job responsibilities
Design & build scalable data-processing pipelines for TBs scale
Collaborate closely with research machine learning and automation teams to develop new and support existing products
Experiment and shape the future of the energy space

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
