What to Expect:
You will be leading the forecasting and financial analysis process as a Senior Financial Analyst based at our North York office reporting to the Finance Planning Insights Manager. This role encompasses supporting the team in enhancing financial performance to achieve the business plan. You will also have significant exposure to collaborating with various functions including Marketing Sales Supply Chain Finance Analytics & Solutions Team and Corporate Finance.
A day in the life of a Senior Financial Analyst:
Preparation and analysis of reports to support the business with strong P&L understanding to conduct variance/mix analysis and investigation/due diligence on material departure from forecast.
Participation in the planning process for the business including preparation of the dynamic forecast annual integrated commercial planning (ICP) long term strategic planning as well as period end close for the business.
Work closely with Marketers in managing their budgets as well as supporting the team on pre and post evaluation of Marketing spend.
Conduct value-added feasibility studies to evaluate (NPV ROI MC analysis) potential financial benefits/risks of ongoing and future business initiatives working closely with the cross-functional team; including new product launches product and contract pricing marketing expenditure retail sales promotions product renovations and other opportunities.
Continually evaluate and challenge financial processes and reporting practices; implement changes as needed.
Provide special project analysis as requested.
Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of financial information and upholding corporate policies and control of assets within areas of responsibility.
Drive continuous improvement with financial impact towards profit enhancement working closely with SRM and cross functional stakeholders.
Role Requirements
Minimum of three years of financial planning experience in different roles (i.e. Corporate Planning Sales Finance Operations Finance Category Finance).
A university or college degree in Finance or Business Administration. CPA CGA CMA or CA designation and/or MBA considered a strong asset.
Strong knowledge of product standard costing.
Excellent spreadsheet BI tools and database skills with the ability to enhance the financial planning process.
Preferred Skills
Experience using PowerBI and developing solutions in PBI a strong asset.
Strong communication skills including presentation of financial information to nonfinancial users.
A self-starter with strong analytical skills the ability to prioritize workflow and operate independently in a demanding fast-paced environment.
Strong relationship builder with the ability to manage through influence and collaboration
