Position Details:

As part of the ADHD and Behavior Disorders Center team you will report to the Clinical Psychologist ADHD. You will support the ADHD and Behavior Disorders Center by assisting clinical psychologists with evidence-based treatment programs for children and adolescents. This part-time unpaid internship provides hands-on training including observation and participation in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) sessions preparation of clinical materials and participation in team meetings. Interns report directly to a clinical psychologist and are expected to commit 1015 hours per week on-site over at least two semesters or one year. This internship is designed to provide training and experience that are for your educational benefit.

This is a part-time unpaid fully on-site internship located in our NYC headquarters office.

Required Onboarding:

  • HR Orientation: All interns are required to attend one HR Orientation session. These are held semi-monthly on Tuesdays from 12:0012:45 PM EST.

  • Mandatory Training: All interns are required to complete HIPAA and Harassment Prevention training.

Learning Opportunities:

  • Receive hands-on training in evidence based treatment programs in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for children with behavioral concerns.

  • Observe and participate in live and virtual clinical sessions to gain exposure to evaluation and treatment techniques.

  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings to learn case consultation and administrative processes.

  • Receive monthly individual supervision from a clinical psychologist to support professional development throughout the internship.

You Will:

  • Support clinicians in preparation for evaluation and treatment sessions by organizing materials and observing or assisting in play-based child interactions under direct supervision.

  • Attend team meetings and observe administrative processes to gain insight into clinical workflow and multidisciplinary collaboration; may assist with minor supportive tasks under supervision.

  • Maintain professionalism discretion and integrity when interacting with families staff and leadership.

  • Follow organizational policies and procedures including on-site scheduling requirements.

You Have:

  • Bachelors degree acquired or in progress

  • 3 months of experience working with children and/or in a clinical setting

  • Professional demeanor and attitude; ability to interface with families as well as senior leadership clinicians and staff

  • Team player and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to maintain discretion and integrity

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
