Per diem: The Nurse Clinician/Educator is an advanced practice role that involves responsibility for the assessment planning coordination implementation and evaluation of educational clinical and quality initiatives with 24-hour accountability for same. This role provides coordination and teaching of unit-based clinical and quality initiatives orientation clinical support staff development and competency assessment of all nursing personnel with participation in centralized educational programs as assigned to support the mission of nursing education for the Department of Nursing. This role is also accountable for the promotion of the growth and development of nursing practice through the application and initiation of advanced specialized nursing care.
Provides clinical patient care and teaching expertise for clinical oversight of patients on an as-needed basis.
Maintains BCLS/ACLS Certification and annual program requirements for renewal and initial certification programs
Completes all cardiac certification updates as required for the faculty role
Possesses the required competence in the area of assignment within the guidelines of the position description as education specialist.
Completes the necessary orientation program as coordinated by Nursing Education prior to engagement. Complies with all institutional regulations as would a full-time employee
Maintains telephone accessibility for control of assignment. Notifies the unit or care center office of any changes in contact information.

4 years of related nursing experience - 1 year in a teaching or leadership position required. Must read write understand and speak English in a clear and concise manner. Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals. Professional Certification in area of clinical practice preferred.

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $92.71 - $92.71 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including experience education and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
