Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist PICU (Residency Trained)
Location: Houston TX
Department: Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Schedule: Day Shift Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (Flexible for rounding and meetings)
On-Call: One full week every 8 weeks including after-hours and weekends
Salary-$145000-$180000
Position Summary A leading childrens hospital is seeking a Residency Trained Clinical Pharmacist to join the 32-bed Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This role involves developing implementing and monitoring clinical pharmacy programs to improve patient care optimize drug utilization and reduce costs. The pharmacist will provide direct clinical services to patients and collaborate with medical staff while supporting the professional development of pharmacy team members.
Key Responsibilities -
Provide clinical pharmacy services in the PICU including patient care rounds with physicians

Develop and implement clinical pharmacy programs to improve patient care and cost-effectiveness

Monitor drug utilization and provide guidance on safe effective medication use

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians nurses and other healthcare staff

Support and supervise pharmacy department staff activities as needed

Participate in meetings committees and ongoing professional development initiatives
Minimum Qualifications -
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree

Training: Completion of PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency preferred; candidates with PGY1 Residency plus 3 years of PICU experience will also be considered

Licensure/Certification: Licensed Pharmacist in Texas; Sterile Product Certification through an accredited program preferred

Experience: Clinical pharmacist experience in PICU or related pediatric acute care/childrens hospital

Strong teamwork communication and customer service skills

Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems computer-assisted devices and healthcare reimbursement
